Weekends of March: Weekend 2

Heya! The second weekend brought the 3 B's--as in booze, beach and best friends!

I spent Friday night with my friends from San Miguel Corporation (the company I worked for before coming to MGM Advertising). That night's agenda included 1) Jay-Ar's post birthday celebration, 2) Mon's farewell (because she's transferring jobs that week), 3) Kaycee's return (from Canada, where she's now based. She's here for a vacation.) 4) introduction of The Boyfriend (haha! They've been making kulit for some time now) and 5) to see each other after such a long time!

We met at Tonio's Grill in Pioneer for good food and booze. Souvenir shot:

Couples Galore?!
From left to right: Chichard, Mon, Vince (partly hidden. haha!) Paula, Jay-Ar, Kaycee, Alvin, me, Ace and Gerard.

Pulutan platter is the way to go! Yum yum!

The original plan was to get-together somewhere in Tagaytay--something we've been wanting to try since December of last year. Unfortunately, it didn't push through due to conflict of schedules.

After the beerfest, it's straight to Punta Fuego, Batangas for me and The Boyfriend. My MGM peeps were already there for some serious R&R. Ms. Tere, my boss, owns a property and was kind enough to invite us over.

On the way, we got seriously lost. The Boyfriend drove from Pioneer all the way to Tagaytay. We exchanged places upon reaching Batangas. However he fell asleep just minutes after my taking over the wheel. Being sleepy myself and a bit drunk, I wasn't really paying attention to road signs...especially tiny ones! I missed the turn to Punta Fuego and drove a little over 10kms ahead. The place I got to was so creepy--very remote (it being 3 in the morning!) and quite foggy. I held on to the sleeping Boy's hand while figuring the way out. (Hmp!)

However, I got so lost that Ms. Tere had to go to where we were . Haha. FAIL. Immediately slept when we got to her house. The next day...

THE BEACH!!!

That's us enjoying the cool waters on a sunny Saturday.

Booze! Booze! Booze! Chips and dip! Manggang hilaw with bagoong!

Ms. Len, Emmy, me and The Boyfriend taking photos just outside the house. 9th hole of the golf course bay-beh! How coolio is that?

Sun-kissed! :)

Went home that night as well. To make up for him being a complete sleepyhead on the way, The Boyfriend drove from Fuego all the way to Manila. He even bought frappes for the long drive home. Thank yoooouuuu!!! (We got lost again by the way, going down Batangas, but it was no biggie.) Hay. Me and directions. :)

If Love Is A Game, These Are The Rules

Saw a book with the same title in the art department, under Ish's desk. (Hm...Ish?) Anyway this is just to share the rules with you guys. Read to the end.

The 10 Rules for Finding Love and Creating Long-Lasting, Authentic Relationships

Rule One
YOU MUST LOVE YOURSELF FIRST
Your relationship with yourself is the central template from which all others are formed. Loving yourself is a prerequisite to creating a successful and authentic union with one another.

Rule Two
PARTNERING IS A CHOICE
The choice to be in a relationship is up to you. You have the ability to attract your beloved and cause the relationship you desire to happen.

Rule Three
CREATING LOVE IS A PROCESS
Moving from "I" to "we" requires a shift in perspective and energy. Being an authentic couple is an evolution.

Rule Four
RELATIONSHIPS PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW
Your relationship will serve as an unofficial "life shop" in which you will learn about yourself and how you can grow on your personal path.

Rule Five
COMMUNICATION IS ESSENTIAL
The open exchange of thoughts and feelings is the lifeblood of your relationship.

Rule Six
NEGOTIATION WILL BE REQUIRED
There will be times when you and your partner must work through impasses. If you do this consciously and with respect, you will learn to create win-win outcomes.

Rule Seven
YOUR RELATIONSHIP WILL BE CHALLENGED BY CHANGE
Life will present turns in the road. How you maneuver those twists and turns determines the success of your relationship.

Rule Eight
YOU MUST NURTURE THE RELATIONSHIP FOR IT TO THRIVE
Treasure your beloved and your relationship will flourish.

Rule Nine
RENEWAL IS THE KEY TO LONGEVITY
Happily ever after means the ability to keep the relationship fresh and vital.

Rule Ten
YOU WILL FORGET ALL THIS THE MOMENT YOU FALL IN LOVE
You know all these rules inherently. The challenge is to remember them when you fall under the enchanting spell of love.

....

Erm...the enchanting spell of love?! Ew. Hahahaha!

The Mother Chucker Said It Right

"...that in the face of true love you don't just give up--even if the object of your affection is begging you to."
- Chuck Bass

*Oh well, so much for true love.

Weekends of March: Weekend 1

Summer is here! The heat made it official.

I raved about this month's weekends in my Facebook account. It's because a lot has been promised. Hehe.

As you can see The Boyfriend liked my status. :)

I kicked the first weekend off by tagging along to Subic with my MGM peeps for this year's Auto Rally Corporate Challenge. We've been invited by STV (the event's organizer) and of course, by Kia, one of our major Clients in advertising.

It was a hot Saturday filled with media people, cars and food. We didn't finish the whole event though. We just had fun hanging out with Precious and Benjie from Kia.

All participating cars. Basically, they drove from Manila all the way to the Subic International Raceway for a series of challenges.

Me, Benj, Precious and Tere modeling our Absoulute bottled water.

Then that night, off to Jan's for his birthday party a.k.a. meet-to-plan-Zambales-outing, which is also happening this month. Aww how I've missed my friends and The Boy. *May videoke!!!*

Happy Birthday Jan!

That's What You Get When You Let Your Heart Win

Paramore went here in Manila for the last stop of their tour. I'm not really a fan. I just know of them and some of their songs. I wasn't going to watch but since my boss gave me, Ish and Sir Alan free bronze tickets, we went. (And it's an added bonus that my brother was going as well so I won't have problems getting a ride home.)

It was super. I had fun surprisingly.

Souvenir shots:

Ms. Tere's ticket. VIP section!

PARAMORE vs. PARALESS (get it? pey paraless? hyuk hyuk.)

Hayley: Manila, how're you feeling?
Crowd: WOOOOOOOO!!!
Sir Alan: Ha? We're feeling woo?

*BTW, her shirt says Para-Thrilla in Manila. Cute eh?

A Commuter's Rant

Ever since I transferred jobs from San Miguel PureFoods to MGM Advertising, I stopped bringing my car to work to save up on gas money since it won't be reimbursable anymore. (Not unless I use it on official business. However, MGM provides us with service and a driver so it doesn't happen all the time.)

Anyway, now that I've rejoined the public commuters' force, and going through the same route almost everyday, I have quite a few..erm..rants.

1. I HATE HATE HATE IT WHEN BUSES BLOW THEIR HORNS. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY DO IT ALTOGETHER! NOISE BARRAGE MUCH?!

I pass through EDSA on my way to the gym in Robinson's Galleria from my office in QC. I take the bus going to Ortigas then get off at POEA then walk to the mall via the newly constructed footbridges there. It annoys me that the buses below get congested at drop off points and when some bus drivers (most of them actually) gets impatient, they press on their horns in a continuous and seriously harassing way. I get irritated each time. But since nothing can be done about it, I just hurry myself inside the cool and quiet mall.

2. AREN'T THERE FXs GOING TO CUBAO-AURORA ANYMORE?

On my way to the office, it's more efficient for me to take an FX (a public ride that seats 10 people) going straight to Cubao Aurora then get off at JP Rizal Street. However, ever since the LRT was created, there has been less FXs going there. Most of them stop at the LRT (Santolan station) or at SM Marikina. It takes a while for a Cubao Aurora FX to pass by. So after I get off at the LRT Santolan station, I had to ride another FX to Aurora, get off at JP Rizal, then ride a jeepney to Kalayaan ave. and then finally walk a short distance to my office. I find it such a hassle for me transferring rides--and quite tiring.

3. SUMMER HEAT!

Need I explain further? It just made me want new clothes--clothes that perfectly suit the weather i.e. dresses, cotton tops, capris...anything loose and flowy. NO to skinny jeans for now. But it also made me realize I need money for that. Hay.

So yeah. These make me hate commuting but because I'd rather save on money than live in the comfort of my gas-guzzler, there's nothing I can do much but rant. Sucks eh?

I can't wait for Friday. (I bring my car on Fridays for spur-of-the-moment-thank-God-it's-Friday gimmicks.)

Oh wait. That's tomorrow! Major yay! :))
