Day 16 - A Song That Makes You Cry

Or nearly cry.


This song is by one of my most favorite bands of all time. The message is kinda sad (depressing even) but weirdly enough, I play it whenever I need me a cheer-me-up. Sometimes I cry along with it. Strange. But it helps me. The song kinda tells me that there are other people out there going through worse than me.

This was taken last night. I saw a movie -- In Your Eyes -- with my two girlfriends Brizie and Ingrid. We were in Burger King eating and Facebooking (free WiFi FTW!) while waiting for our movie schedule.

Day 8 - A Photo That Makes You Angry / Sad

I'll go with a photo that makes me sad.

Man this is hard.

Ah. I found this photo after going through endless folders on my hard drive. This is my collection of stuffed animals dating back when I was still little. They lived in these shelves in an extra room in our house before it was transformed into a bathroom. Now, I have no idea where they are. And that makes me sad. I miss my childhood. :(

Day 7 - A Photo That Makes You Happy

This was a photo taken during my last travel to Hong Kong with my brother, aunts and cousins. It was hella fun just because I was with family. I couldn't help but smile each time I go through my Hong Kong 2009 folder. 

I love traveling. I love Hong Kong. I love family. <3

Haha. I was trying to look for an image that only says "There's no time like the present" but the second line screams true as well so this would do. :)

Day 4 - Your Favorite Book

Ha! This is easy. The Harry Potter books--all seven of them. HANDS DOWN. I mean how brilliant can J.K. Rowling be to come up with things like the Monster Book of Monsters, Bertie Bot's Every-Flavored Beans, dementors, Wingardium Leviosa, Avada Kedavra, Muggles and heck, an entire wizarding world complete with schools (Hogwarts, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons), a bank, (Gringotts) a shopping district (Diagon Alley) and a whole Ministry of Magic? It's such a fun read. It's WICKED. I'm totally raving.

All Harry Potter books.

A treasure in their own right.

Le sigh. I cannot wait for the final movie installment. Yippee!

Day 3 - Your Favorite TV Program

Ugh. This project is beginning to feel like answering one of those slam books/autographs in high school. In other words, it's super fun. :)

This is another hard pick as I watch a lot of TV. Well for my favorite TV show, it would have to be F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

Although I tend to watch anything on TV, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is one of the few shows I really, really enjoy. I find myself laughing at all the episodes--even the reruns on TV. It's a classic 90's situation comedy. I practically grew up with the characters. Er maybe not. But I really love them.

Ah I miss this. Theirs is a really great friendship.

Day 2 - Your Favorite Movie

A favorite movie would have to be something that I could watch over and over again. For that I pick...10 Things I Hate About You! I swear I've seen this movie a hundred times already.

Reasons it never gets tired:

• Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger sizzle with sarcasm.
• Anyone can totally relate to it.
• Sex-related humor.
• Joseph Gordon-Levitt!
• Cast are all characters.
• A modern day screen adaptation of a Shakespeare play? Simply brilliant!
• Witty dialogue throwback.

For example:

Walter Stratford: [Bianca and Chastity are sneaking past Bianca's father] Shoulda used the window!
Bianca: Hi Daddy!
Walter Stratford: Hi... where're we going?
Bianca: Well, if you must know... a small study group of friends.
Walter Stratford: Otherwise known as an orgy?
Chastity: Mr. Stratford, it's just a party!
Walter Stratford: And hell is just a sauna.

And my personal favorite:

Patrick: I thought you wanted out.
Cameron: Yeah, well, I did, but, uh... that was until she kissed me.

I especially love watching it when I'm feeling a bit out there. I guess you can call it my comfort movie.

Day 1 - Your Favorite Song

Ha. 30 Days project starting...TODAY.
Picking my favorite song can be difficult since I have a lot. But I'll go with something alternative--my first love in music.

I remember listening endlessly to Oasis songs when I was still in elementary school while my friends all went crazy for some pop group like the Spice Girls, B*Witched, NSync and the Backstreet Boys. Although I did have my pop fanatic phase, I've always been in love with alternative music. And Oasis is my all-time favorite band.
I chose Wonderwall because they're so well-known for it. But I love all their songs equally. There's something about the way they perform their songs that puts me in an easy breezy mood. It's like telling me that everything's gonna be just fine. :)

...of making this blog more interesting. I found this on Chelsea Whipps's blog and thought I'd jump at it. But I must wait for the perfect day to start. And another thing, this blog's time setting is whack-o. It's not at par with my location. Anyone care to help how to adjust it? Thanks.
