Fashion Inspiration: Prints & Textures

The other day and yesterday's shopping jaunts with Brizie made me want a lot of things--fashionably-speaking. Heh.

I am absolutely in looooove with the following: (WARNING: This post is image-loaded. I want to take note of all the ideas!)

1.
Lace/Sheer/Tulle
I love its ultra-soft and vintage effect on clothes. You can either balance the look off with rough textures like denim, leather or vintage cotton tees or maximize its femininity by pairing them with florals, soft cardigans or even more lace.

Lace affair:

2.
Soft Denim
I saw a lot of this yesterday. Polo shirts, shirt dresses, vests and even shoes. I can't resist its cuteness that I bought one denim article: a headband worth PhP 40.00! Haha. El cheapo me. I shall soon start collecting them, though.

Denim love:

3.
Florals
One word: SUMMER! (We don't have spring here so we associate flowers more with summer because of its bright hues.)

Flower power:

4.
Stripes.
I've always loved MOD fashion or the minimalist look. Best worn with denims or accented with bright splashes of color--a no-fail fashion statement!

Fashion mimes:

5. Animal Prints
My absolute favorite! I'm currently collecting everything leopard and zebra printed. Whenever I wear them, I feel adventurous!

Animal instincts:

Ayayay! I need moolah. :/

Polaroid Genius!

I "discovered" this uber cool application while browsing through Chelsea Whipps' blog: Haggard Library.

It's called Poladroid project--an application wherein you can create a Polaroid-ish effect on your digital photos in 3 easy steps:

1. Download the Poladroid application and launch it. Download here.
2. Drag and drop your photos.
3. Wait...or shake the picture to reach its full effect. Da-ran! Insta-Polaroids!!!

And the best part? It's for FREE! :)

Take a look at my Poladroids:

Friends from college!

With the boyfriend. :)

The late and sorely-missed Kitty. :(

Popo, the baby of the family!

And his older brother, my golden lab named Berting!

COOLNESS EH?

Today's happenings:

I woke up really early at 6 in the morning today to accompany the boyfriend in Makati to submit his applications to various pharmaceutical corporations there. You see, he wants to be a medical representative and as a good girlfriend, I showed my support by...waking up really early. HAHA. We had fun walking around the city, getting slightly lost and asking random people for directions. *I do hope he gets a callback soon!*

Then in the afternoon, we met with our friends Brizie and Albert in Glorietta and gallivanted our night away. Well, me and Brizie window-shopped while the two boys just followed us around. (At one point, they just sat on a bench to wait while me and Brizie tirelessly went around the mall.) Ah, boys and shopping. A not-so-happy relationship.

It was a physically tiring but emotionally fun day! *I have new loot!*

Toodles for now! :-*

Tea And Sympathy by Jars Of Clay

I Did Not Have 3,000 Pairs Of Shoes, I Had 1,060.

(Said by Imelda Marcos)

Last week, out of sheer boredom, I went through my shoe collection. Is it a surprise that I want...more?
I took photos of my latest loot:

Black flats from Brizie! :) La-la-love the zebra print on the inside!

Brown wedges from Ichigo from last month's shopping spree.

Check out the rest of their collection at:

My humble leopard shoe collection!
Peep-toe flats - H&M
Pointed flats - French Sole
Strappy heels - a gift from the boyfriend ;)
Round-toe flats - Tomato

In my last Fashion Inspiration entry, I talked about wanting to buy this pair of sneakers. However, I discovered I already own a cute pair:

Black and white with stars! :) from Keds.

I remember buying my 2 friends a pair each in 2007.
The Happy 3 Friends' friendship shoes! :)

Last Saturday, I unearthed them and put them to use--combining 2 of my Fashion Inspiration entries:
Plain tees + Sneakers and shorts.

Haha! :) I look gay.

But what's to stop me from buying this?

Love. And for PhP 450? Steal.

Sing For The Laughter, Sing For The Tear

(Excerpt from Aerosmith's Dream On)

Saturday night was spent welcoming back a friend. (Remember my friends from the
Zambales-Subic getaway?) Jonas went away to work on a cruise as a musician for six months, and wasn't in fact able to join us for that. But for now, he's back. And to celebrate, we went out for...karaoke! ♫♪♫

That's Jonas in the middle, all smiles for the camera!

Watch my friend Albert as he puts on the microphone its itty bitty shower cap. :)

Angelo, Mars, Jay, Albert and Brizie.

Plus me! :) Too bad the boyfriend couldn't make it. :(

A CR break means a stolen mirror shot!
Lovin' Brizie's denim and lace shirtdress. And as you can see, I gave the sneakers and shorts look a try. :)
(and more about that on my next post!)

Welcome back Jo Bro!!!

First Of August

Today is one of the Philippines' former presidents' death anniversary. To us, she was a former president. But she was also somebody's wife, mother, sister and lola. Nevertheless, her death brought a great tragic to us Filipinos, because aside from her being the first woman president of the country, she was also the "icon of peace," having played a very important role in bringing back our democracy. Losing her was like losing a piece of hope. But today, we remember her greatness.

Today is also my cousin/sister/bestfriend-in-the-whole-wide-world's 22nd birthday! Woot woot!

Isn't she gorgeous?! I love this photo of her. And in the words she lives by, "Why be plain when you can be fabulous?" Right?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLY! Have a good one! :)

PS: It's my boyfriend's dad's birthday as well! *A happy birthday shout out to Mr. Edwards!*
