The Last Airbender & The Pink Movement

Saturday. Me and my girlfriends went to The Pink Movement event.

Reasons for going:

1. It's for a great cause.

2. It's gonna be held at The Republiq in Resorts World, Newport City--this newly developed "luxurious entertainment spot" (quoted from the Resorts World Manila website). I've been dying to see the place.

3. We were guest-listed which meant free entrance. Heh. (I'm jobless. Anything free is gold.)

4. It features an all-women dance marathon. I love watching passionate dancers. I love their energy.

5. Me and my girlfriends needed another reason to get together and bond more and this was it.

6. It's Saturday and we didn't have anything better to do.

But before that, me and the boyfriend pushed through with our plans of seeing The Last Airbender movie in 3D. We've been watching the series the past few weeks so we were kinda excited to see it on the big screen--despite the bad reviews it has received from those who've already seen it.

The movie, in my humble opinion, was a bit disappointing--if you're going to base it on the series. But generally, I find it okay. The effects were great and the fight scenes were exciting. However, I didn't like it that they didn't show much of Aang's (the main character) happy-go-lucky side. I understand that M. Night Shyamalan has his own treatment of the story but I believe the movie would've been a whole lotta better if the characters stayed true to their personalities. Just saying.

The boyfriend was beyond disappointed. He was dismayed. Hehe. I can't blame him. He's grown to love the series.

So after the movie, we went off to pick up Brizie at Albert's to meet the rest of the girls. Finally, we arrive in Newport City.

The place is awesome. A work-in-progress but awesome nonetheless. It screams high-end.

Unfortunately, we arrived late for the event. We were only able to catch a bit of the dance marathon before the winner was announced. (If there's one thing me and my friends agree on, it's that you can never rely on any of us to be on time. Tsk.) But we stayed several more hours for a few drinks and a whole lot of dancing. :)

A glimpse of the inside. Nice.

Event goers. Inside The Republiq.

Getting ready for a night of dancing.

The boys.

Jam packed. The place was literally shaking.

We made new friends. Haha. These dudes offered to take my friend's picture. When she declined, they said, "Take our picture instead." And so she did. Haha. Weird.

Our group. We had super duper fun! ♫

It's definitely another experience for me and the boyfriend. We rarely go out to party. It's just not our thing. But we both agreed it's fun to do it once in a while with our friends. :)
